[happy friday] june 2020

In this unprecedented time it can be hard to be inspired.

So, this is June.  Whatever emotions you're having regarding the pandemic, the protests, and the world, it's so important to take the time to find inspiration.  Here are some designers and a bit of their furniture design process.

ENJOY!

JEHS+LAUB | DAVIS

Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub met each other during the academic studies of industrial design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwaebisch Gmuend and became friends after an internship in New York in 1990. After they graduated in 1992 they set up jehs+laub in 1994. From that time on they started to design furniture and lamps for Italian companies, such as Cassina, Ycami and Nemo.

STUDIO GORM | MEMO

Studio Gorm creates simple, practical and thoughtful products, furniture, lighting, and exhibitions. Their designs are informed by speculative academic research which explores culture, history and technology, and how objects and ideas evolve to fit the needs of contemporary life. As designers, they draw from their background in sculpture and craft to create works that balance function and aesthetics. Their methods are deeply rooted in the act of physical making where an object’s form evolves out of an experimental constructive approach to design.
